Gov. Ted Kulongoski declared today to Kacey Montoya that he has proposed a ban on all grass field burning in the city of the Willamette Valley.He wants to reduce the quantity of the grass that the farmers can burn by half until 2010 and ban it completely in 2011. Interviewed by Kacey Montoya,Kulongoski said that he is concerned about the health effects from the high expossure to smoke.Studies show that this is a serious threat for people with asthma or heart disease.
Kacey Montoya says that the grass seeding is a dangerous activity for the human's health,it's effects could causinng asthma or other heart disease and affect especially childrends and old people.Grass seeding is a multimillion dollar business in Oregon,which supplies 90% of world's need of seed.The Oregon farmers burn their fields every year in order to get rid of pests and other plants disease.Kacey Montoya says that Ted Kulongoski intends to propise this ban next year to the Legislature.
